Even in 2016, where Star Wars Battlefront currently stands as the newest and indisputably most pretty and overall most authentic-feeling Star Wars game to have ever graced gaming, I still believe Rogue Squadron does the best job when it comes to recreating certain iconic moments from the films.The secret, unlockable Death Star Trench Run and Battle Of Hoth stages - while hindered by the technical limitations of the 90s - still perfectly capture the essence of both set pieces as they appeared in A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back respectively.The Expanded Universe stuff is what truly elevates Rogue Squadron to legendary status, though. Being able to actually experience the only-talked-about-in-the-films Beggar's Canyon race first-hand remains a high point.
