20 Games That Made The Movies BETTER

12. Spider-Man 2 (2004)

For a long time, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 was the definitive Spider-Man movie, expanding on his first film, blowing his third out the water, and don't even talk to us about Marc Webb's reboot. Similarly, the video game adaptation of Spider-Man 2 was once the gold standard of Spidey games, giving us everything we could have asked for and more.

Granting us access to an open world New York City, where we're free to swing, zip and ka-pow our way around town, the game follows the story of Spider-Man 2 while taking every opportunity to offer an authentic, lived-in webslinger experience. But, rather than just toe the line and get through the film's narrative directly, the game expands on the already stellar plot and action with scenes and characters that didn't make it to the big screen, but who speak to the wider Spidey universe - including Black Cat and Rhino.

The game slots in perfectly with the film, while giving us a fuller picture of Peter Parker's life that is not limited to the episodic nature of the cinematic instalments. And with Bruce Campbell narrating, what more could you want?
