17. Love Story Outta Nowhere - Fahrenheit

Quantic Dream's mostly terrific interactive thriller Fahrenheit makes a clumsy attempt to integrate "mature" elements into its story, with a depiction of sexual activity that left players confused if not amused.

Late in the game, protagonist Lucas Kane dies and ends up resurrected as an insanely powerful undead revenant with martial arts skills that'd put The Matrix's Neo to shame.

In due course, Lucas grows close to Carla Valenti, the cop who has been pursuing him for most of the game, leading to them having extremely awkward sex. 

Even ignoring the fact that Carla is technically shagging a zombie of all things, she swiftly confesses her love for Lucas with a laughably implausible expediency considering how long they've known each other.

None of it works, and was apparently a result of the game's rushed production, where reams of story and character development were cut from the third act to ensure it met its release date.
