20 Greatest Commodore Amiga Games Of All Time

12. Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe

The Bitmap Brothers make yet another appearance on the list with their vision of this futuristic and violent ice hockey/handball/american football hybrid. Drawing inspiration from James Caan€™s 1975 movie Rollerball, Speedball was a brutal sport that rewarded teams for causing horrible injuries to the opposing side€™s players - awesome. The game also incorporated an excellent transfer market that was the perfect complement to the main game itself. There was even the ability to upgrade your player€™s attributes, meaning you could tailor your team to exactly the way you wanted it. Speedball 2 played like a dream. It also had longevity due to its various modes: knockout, league, cup, and a multiplayer to boot. It may have been a sport the Bitmap Brothers came up with, but it was still one of the greatest sporting games ever released on the Amiga.
