4. Lemmings

Move a group of human-like lemmings with green hair and blue shirts from one point to another. You rarely see game innovation like that today. From that concept came one of the greatest puzzlers ever made. It was such a simple idea, yet worked so perfectly. Lemmings didn€™t have a need for stunning graphics. The gameplay was incredibly addictive, and there was so much satisfaction to be gained from figuring out the best way to complete a level, especially if you managed to get every one of your Lemmings to freedom. By assigning a limited number of skills to individual lemmings, you advanced your suicidal group through each section. These abilities included diggers, climbers, builders, miners and bashers. Should you realise halfway through a level that your plans aren€™t going to come to fruition, then hit the nuke button, and sadistically laugh as every one of your little critters gets a countdown above their heads, before eventually exploding into a rodenty mess.
