20 Hilarious Video Game Mechanics You Didn't Know Existed

3. Boots of Very Fast Blinking - Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3 features an entire treasury's worth of rare loot that can turn your party into gods. From deadly blades to impervious armor, it feels like every single item you find is designed to give you the edge you need to take on stronger and stronger foes.

That is, until you reach the Circus in Act 3. Those guys handle power scaling a little bit differently.

Akabi is a djinn who runs a rigged wheel-spin game in the Circus of the Last Days. Unless you manage to outwit him, it is impossible to win his grand prize, but every time you spin the wheel, you can win some pretty... interesting consolation prizes.

Most of the items Akabi gives to losers are useless junk, such as his old smelly lamp or a used voucher. These items don't do anything besides being funny, but then there are also useless junk items that do have a functionality.

These prizes include a returning axe that comes back to you after being thrown but flies straight towards your head, a bag that turns all food into mold, and the Boots of Very Fast Blinking that can teleport you but leave all of your possessions behind.

These items are obviously terrible for combat, but the fact that they come with their own broken mechanics makes them genuinely fun to play around with.
