16. Borderlands 4

Even as questions remain about the long-term viability of the Borderlands franchise, there are certainly still many die-hard fans eager to get their hands on the impending fourth game.

Though Gearbox has promised that Borderlands 4 will feature less icky toilet humour than its direct predecessor, it's reasonable to expect business-as-usual for the most part - that is to say, cartoonish open-world FPS mayhem accompanied by edgy, in-your-face comedy.

Mercifully pivoting away from Pandora, the sequel will be set on the all-new planet of Kairos, which you and up to three players can explore while dealing with the world's complex faction conflicts.

It remains to be seen whether or not Borderlands 4 can sufficiently rejuvenate the IP after some serious missteps in recent years, but here's hoping.
