Want a new Burnout? Because we're finally getting a new Burnout.

For years upon years - and with a few failures along the way - Criterion have been put on the Need for Speed team, after being acquired by EA.

Well, no more! Or rather, we're still getting an NFS-branded game, but with the iconic Burnout takedown-cam, a far more over-the-top Fast and the Furious-inspired plot about car-jacking and highway robberies, and a more fun-loving tone.

I'd wager you probably missed the 2015 Need for Speed 'reboot' thanks to it receiving next to no advertising, though that provided EA with the right amount of motivation to try something different. And when that means revisiting a beloved game formula that hasn't seen the light of day in nine years, it's going to be more than okay with the majority.
