10. Doom (Switch & VR)

The Hype: Doom was one of last year's big surprise hits, a game that seemed like it was, well, doomed (sorry), but actually turned out to be one of 2016's most satisfyingly bonkers FPS experiences.
Well, Bethesda is doubling down on Doom this holiday season, with the release of not only a Nintendo Switch port of last year's game, but a special VR Doom title, named Doom VFR, coming to HTC Vive alongside PSVR.
What's been shown off from the Switch port so far looks stunningly impressive considering the restrictions of the console's tech, and while Doom VFR is perhaps disappointingly centred around teleportation movement, simply being immersed in Hell in VR should be quite the experience.
