20 Most Jaw-Dropping Games of 2012

19. Legend of Grimrock

There was a lot of love for old-school games this year. And one of the best love letters came in the form of Finnish developer Almost Human€™s dungeon crawler Legend of Grimrock. The game€™s story is simple: an airship drops off a couple of prisoners on top of Mount Grimlock. They can earn their freedom if they descend into the dungeons of the mountain and find a way out. The movement of your party is grid based, as is the combat. While fighting your way through the dungeon of Grimlock, you must also solve puzzles and maintain the stamina of your party. This may sound like it€™s a little too archaic and stilted for its own good, but once you get the hang of the game, it€™s hard to turn off. It€™s also one pretty game€in that grungy, fungus covered dungeon kind of way.
