3. Lucario

I must admit that I've been guilty of blindly sticking a Lucario into my team for years since its introduction Generation Four, but I - like many - was ill-advised to keep on doing so. Lucario was introduced as a powerhouse within Diamon & Pearl, but this was more to do with a general weakening of the competition during that time.

And while Lucario has very much remained at the forefront of subsequent games due to its popularity with fans, it does hold a few glaring weaknesses that can't be ignored. While it does hold a remarkable number of type strengths in terms of receiving damage, there aren't a huge amount that it is able to dish out major punishment to.

With a large number of its strongest moves also relying on outside types, it's also not ever really able to achieve its full potential thanks to STAB limits. If you want a Fighting type on your team you can do much more damage with a Machamp, while virtually all other Steel types are far superior across defensive capabilities and HP stats.
