Despite many of its levels being segmented linear affairs, there's a central hub and series of other mini-worlds you can visit and explore that at least qualify a good chunk of Dimensions as open-world.

Need more convincing? How about 'Homer Simpson driving the Batmobile through Rivendell'? Or 'Gandalf slapping Marty McFly before fighting a Ghostbuster'?

Much better.
