Physics-based platformers are a dime a dozen these days, but sometimes you'll find one with real heart; real passion behind its design.

That game is Unravel, and whilst EA didn't do the kindhearted developer Coldwood Interactive any favours by bringing them onstage during an otherwise sports and action-focussed E3 presentation in 2015, the final game has an instant sense of lovability that could win over even the most stone-hearted of gamers.

Literally the tale of a ball of yarn coming to life and leaving an old grandmother's house in the woods, the sheer visual delight of climbing trees, riding the occasional fish and frolicking with other wildlife is charming as hell.
