15. Ball x Pit

In late 2025, roguelite fans everywhere were suddenly enraptured by the incredibly addictive brick breaker game Ball x Pit. Largely created by developer Kenny Sun, the game is part bullet hell and part town builder. 

Each run is chaotic and engrossing, making you immediately want to come back for more. The game’s title honestly doesn’t do the amount of balls in it justice. There are so many types to experiment with — you might find yourself firing lightning balls, vampire balls, Satan balls, even nuclear bomb balls. 

Between runs, players will manage a growing village, building and improving structures that will help buff them in future runs. This combination of incremental progress and everchanging runs made Ball x Pit a huge hit with players and critics, earning the game a 92% on Metacritic and a slew of award nominations.

By the end of 2025, Ball x Pit had sold a million copies, which prompted developers to announce three content updates for the game. Two of them have already been released, with a third coming this July. It’s unclear if there will be any other updates in Ball x Pit’s future, but regardless, its legacy as an incredible roguelite is undeniable.
