20. Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour

Though the Nintendo Switch 2 has been a phenomenal success, like pretty much any new console the launch line-up was a mixed bag, with many expressing not one iota of surprise that Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour was, well, a bit cack.

A mini-game collection intended to serve as an introduction to the Switch 2's various hardware features, Welcome Tour ruffled many feathers by not being a free console pack-in, with Nintendo instead charging £7.99/$10 to play it.

While one could take this as a sign that Nintendo felt the game was of high enough quality to charge for it, nothing in the marketing for Welcome Tour seemed to support that.

And indeed, Welcome Tour received mediocre reviews for its barebones gameplay, especially compared to feature-rich pack-in games like the PS5's Astro's Playroom. 

Many critics couldn't help but mention the absurdity of the game being a paid product, but even taking financials out of the equation entirely, in terms of pure quality it's an incredible sterile, even soulless attempt at onboarding new Switch 2 owners.
