12. Dark Souls (PS1)

Oh, go on then, one more Dark Souls de-make, seeing as the release of the latest entry in the series means we're basically in the middle of Souls Season.

In a way, the subdued, dirty tones of the games would be well-suited to the PS1, which also had a propensity for dark palettes. That green hue in the image is both 'PS1' and 'Souls' in equal measure.

One possible discrepancy is that the hero here appears to be a 2D sprite, whereas it's likely that on the PS1 the devs would've gone for the blocky sharp-angled 3D-poly model a la Solid Snake.
