4. Linden Ashby Bruised A Kidney While Filming The Scorpion Fight

Despite the high-contact nature of the shoot, major injuries were surprisingly few and far between, though Johnny Cage actor Linden Ashby perhaps suffered the worst of everyone.

Ashby originally planned to use a stunt double for more complex shots, but at the urging of co-star Robin Shou decided to do most of the heavy sparring himself.

Ashby sustained a serious injury while filming his fight scene against Scorpion, for though he was kitted out with protective padding for his back, Casamassa landed a full-pelt kick that landed just shy of the padding.

As a result, Ashby bruised his kidney and, in addition to the debilitating pain, actually urinated blood.
