20. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Naughty Dog is one of the few developers whose name carries as much cachet and excitement as Rockstar, and so expectations are already through the roof for their new sci-fi action-adventure game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Co-directed by Uncharted and The Last of Us veteran Neil Druckmann, the game is set thousands of years in the future and follows a bounty hunter, Jordan A. Mun (Tati Gabrielle), who is stranded on a remote planet populated with deadly robots while seeking out a crime syndicate.

The jaw-dropping reveal trailer did a fantastic job of establishing the style, tone, and world-building of Naughty Dog's new IP, which takes place in an alternate universe where advanced space travel existed by 1986.

The fact that Intergalactic is a rare truly original AAA game from a major developer is enough to make it one of the decade's most anticipated titles, and given Naughty Dog's unimpeachable track record, it also might be one of the decade's best.

And if this somehow isn't enough, the score is being composed by Oscar winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is reportedly targeting a 2027 release.
