15. Hellmart

Hellmart is a horror survival sim that allows we lifelong consumers to explore one of our innermost fantasies: being locked in the supermarket at night.

But it’s not all fun and games: playing first-person as a store clerk, you have to serve customers and stock the shelves during the day, getting a good feel for what it’s like to be trapped in a dead-end job you hate. However, when night falls and you’re on your own manning the till, you have to bar the windows, lock the doors and defend yourself against untold screaming hell monsters that want to make you their midnight snack.

As sims go, this one really looks the part, with the trailers showing a meticulous attention to the small details, from the store design and interactive objects, to the character movements, to the sound design, which even includes your shoes squeaking on the polished floors. There’s a serious Five Nights vibe, but the design of this looks light years ahead - despite developer Gaze In Games being a largely untested element. 

The game will release on Steam in 2026.
