2. God of War Laufey

Sony recently made the shock announcement that the next mainline entry into the God of War franchise will be a spin-off starring Laufey aka Faye, making it the very first game in the series not to feature Kratos as its protagonist.

Though this sparked a predictable backlash from the usual suspects, there are naturally more reasonable parties a little disappointed that, some four years removed from the release of God of War Ragnarök, the studio doesn't seem to be much closer to releasing a bonafide Kratos-starring threequel.

But here's a fun thought - what if Laufey ends up being even better than the two previous Norse-themed God of War games?

Laufey is an awesome character after all, and the action we've seen so far looks friggin' spectacular, with her more fast-paced style of movement and attack working in stark contrast to Kratos' more lumbering, power-heavy approach.

For those who love God of War but also love their combat a little more frantic than we've seen in recent installments, God of War Laufey just might be one of the series' best entries yet.
