14. Silent Hill: Townfall

Silent Hill: Townfall is set to be the first fully-fledged first-person entry into the hit survival horror franchise - ignoring 2024's terrible Silent Hill: The Short Message, because why wouldn't we?

It's an especially bold choice to shift from the series' third-person style considering Silent Hill's recent resurgence per both the Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill f. 

And while Townfall is being presented as something of a standalone spin-off, it could very well be a major game-changer for the IP.

First-person horror just hits different, as the kids say these days, and considering what wonders the perspective shift did for Resident Evil, could it not entirely reinvent what horror means in the world of Silent Hill?

Couple this with the uniquely eerie Scottish setting of St. Amelia and it well and truly feels like Townfall might be a sleeper hit in the making rather than a mere curious experiment.
