10. Syanna - The Witcher 3

With the new Witcher 3 remaster just around the corner and the next DLC coming out next year, some people may feel tempted to go back to the previous expansions.

If you are one of those people and want to get the most out of the story of Blood and Wine, make sure to keep an eye out for Syanna.

Syanna is the lost sister of Toussaint’s duchess, Anna Henrietta, who acts as the secret antagonist of the DLC, manipulating the vampire Detlaff to get revenge on her family.

When Detlaff discovers Syanna is using him, he demands that you send her to him so he can personally punish her. Given her crimes against Toussaint and Detlaff’s somewhat sympathetic backstory, some players might be tempted to do just that.

However, letting Detlaff kill Syanna leads to the worst possible ending to the DLC.

After Syanna is murdered, Anna Henrietta blames her death on Geralt. Despite the lost sister trying to take the duchess’ life, her death enrages her so much that Henrietta sends Geralt to prison.

To prevent this absolutely humiliating and depressing ending, make sure to give Syanna her ribbon from the fairytale land so that she can escape Detlaff’s punishment.

Otherwise, it’s off to jail with you.
