20 Video Game Side Quests That BROKE You
13. Heroes (Cyberpunk 2077)
Losing companions in video games is hardly a strange concept to gamers. The hallways of gaming history are littered with the corpses of loveable characters killed off for maximum emotional damage. That said, it's pretty uncommon for a game to really make you sit with that grief, which is what makes Cyberpunk 2077's "Heroes" so beautiful, yet heartbreaking.
This side job acts as a funeral for your beloved best friend, Jackie Welles, after his untimely demise in the game's first act. It starts when you get a call from his mother asking you to attend his Ofrenda at the El Coyote Cojo. But don't go in expecting a surprise gunfight or an elaborate heist, as this whole job revolves around honouring Jackie's memory.
Throughout the mission, you'll explore Jackie's garage, looking through his precious items alongside his girlfriend, Misty. Then, you can go to the event itself and pay your respects, even saying a few words at his altar if you want to.
"Heroes" is a gorgeous respite from the breakneck pace of most jobs in the game. Although, you'd better have some tissues ready, because if you weren't missing Jackie already, you will be after this.
