20 Video Game Villains That SHOULDN'T Have Died
6. Isaac Dixon - The Last Of Us Part II
Isaac Dixon is one of the more intriguing supporting characters in The Last of Us Part II - the utterly ruthless leader of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), as played so tenaciously by the ever-great Jeffrey Wright in both the game and live-action TV adaptation.
The games makes a concerted effort to build Isaac up as a serious piece of work, so it's a genuine, deflating surprise when he's quite suddenly killed off via a gunshot from Yara.
Now The Last of Us Part II pulls a similar sudden death gambit with a few characters, but given how big a deal is made about the conflict between the WLF and Seraphites, it's jarring that Isaac is greased with so little import or fanfare.
It's all the more puzzling considering the casting of Wright, which if nothing else suggested he was going to be far more of a major fixture throughout the game.
If you're gonna hire an actor as great as Jeffrey Wright to play a character in your game, you should really make it count before killing them off.
