20 Video Game Villains That SHOULDN'T Have Died
2. Zeno - Resident Evil Requiem
As previously mentioned, Resident Evil Requiem's Zeno is effectively a Wesker clone and seemingly introduced as a way for the franchise to still give Alby some sort of presence despite him being very, very dead.
But Capcom ultimately showed themselves to just be thoroughly trolling fans, as in the game's climax Zeno injects himself with the apparent bioweapon Elpis, unaware that it's actually an antivirus, in turn stripping him of all his supernatural abilities.
Moments later Zeno is confronted by Victor Gideon, who prompted uses one of his parasitic tentacles to decapitate him.
Though it's a hilariously over-the-top death on one hand, it also feels anti-climactic to a fault.
After being hyped up so much throughout the game, and players expecting one hell of an epic boss fight against him, it was beyond infuriating that Zeno got dispatched so casually in a cutscene of all things.
Granted, injecting yourself with something you don't really know anything about is just an incredibly boneheaded move any way you slice it.
