20 Video Game Villains That SHOULDN'T Have Died

13. General Skorge - Gears of War 2

Gears of War 2 introduced one of the best villains of the entire series - the High Priest of the Trinity of Worms himself, General Skorge.

Skorge doesn't just have a cool name, though - he's absolutely badass looking, like a legally distinct Predator, and was hyped up by Marcus Fenix as being way more dangerous than the first game's Big Bad, General RAAM.

The early going absolutely builds up Skorge as an absolute hoss, but ultimately he doesn't get that much screen time throughout the game, and the boss fight where he's finally defeated is a dull QTE-party.

Given that the wider Gears of War books do a fantastic job of delving into Skorge's genuinely fascinating backstory, it felt like a massive waste to kill him off in such perfunctory fashion here.

Of all the villains we've encountered in the series, Skorge is the one who, above all others, truly felt like he would've benefitted from a multi-game arc.
