20 Video Game Villains You Couldn’t Wait To Kill

7. Mickey and Lou - Far Cry: New Dawn (2019)

Villain for villain, the Far Cry games have had more truly loathsome big-hitters than most other franchises – and maybe this is because they usually wind up dying at the game’s conclusion, compelling Ubisoft to come up with something dastardly each and every time.

The eleventh game in the series, Far Cry New Dawn, is something of an anomaly, in that it returns us to the map of its predecessor Far Cry 5, for a whole new story. It picks up over a decade and a half after 5’s nuclear ending, which saw Hope County devastated by the wrath of religious fanatic Joseph Seed, and pits us against a new threat (or, threats) in this dog-eat-dog world: Mickey and Lou.

The twin sisters lead the local Highwaymen, killing and looting and taking what they want, with no sense of community or collaboration. And while there have been better villains than them in the series – especially the likes of 4’s Pagan Min – none have been quite as irritating and, well, killable.

Bratty and deeply annoying throughout, the twins feel like pale imitations of past Far Cry villains, and this makes us loathe them all the more as they kill innocents, take our resources, cut out tongues and execute our friends. When the time comes, they deserve everything they get, and while the game gives us the option of mercy for Mickey, we would be lying if we said we did anything other than unload a clip in her face.
