20 Weirdest Licensed Video Games EVER

15. Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead’s Revenge

Fans of eighties horror likely have fond memories of Pumpkinhead, the 1998 creature-feature classic about a formidable mythical creature that enacts vengeance on behalf of those who dare summon it to the surface. What those fans are less likely to fondly reminisce about though is its woefully inept sequels that got progressively worse as time goes on.

Which makes it all the stranger that its first sequel, 1994's Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge, was the recipient of the only tie-in video game the franchise would ever see. Reviled on release and infamous amongst horror fans now, Bloodwings is a terrible film but its PC game adaptation is somehow even more baffling.

Where you'd expect to find a survival-horror game that focused on puzzles, exploration and the constant looming threat of Pumpkinhead waiting to jump out from any corner, you instead will find a shoddy Doom knock-off that has very little to do with the film its based on, outside of rewarding players with low-quality clips from the film after they collect a certain number of crystals.

Much like the film that inspired it, Bloodwings has been forgotten to time and given its tired gameplay and ugly visuals, it's definitely for the best that Pumpkinhead remains in the ground.
