18. The Totally Boring PC Gaming Conference

There was plenty of excitement ahead of the very first PC gaming conference at E3, sponsored by PC Gamer of course. Was it going to make a firm stance for PC gamers and add another must-see event to the stacked docket? No, not really. The show, ably hosted by the charismatic Sean "Day9" Plott, was a surprisingly snoozy affair, focusing far too much on expansions and lower-tier titles, and often stopping to give their advertisers a lengthy slot to wax technical about the newest graphics cards (looking at you here, AMD). Even with some cool No Man's Sky footage being shown off, the whole thing felt depressingly low-key and not really part of the proper show. Plus, the 2-and-a-half-hour run-time was absolutely punishing, especially if you live in Europe and stayed up until the wee hours to see if Gabe Newell made an appearance...
