Tetris – one of the most iconic, recognisable games ever released – involves organising shapes as they descend towards the ground, the vast majority of cover designs interpreting such a premise incredibly literally. That said, the version released in Japan on Game Boy went in a more conceptual direction, emphasising not only the game, but the rich cultural history behind it, depicting the Kremlin, ripped straight from Moscow's Red Square.

It’s an interesting choice, one which works by reminding players of the game’s origins, thereby emphasising its immense historical significance to the medium. In terms of composition, it’s also excellent, drawing attention towards the title, the contrasting colours bringing everything within the image to life in tremendous fashion.
