5 Brilliant Directors Who Should Helm Video Game Adaptations

4. Guillermo Del Toro - Mass Effect

Cast: Commander Shepard - Karl Urban Ashley Williams - Kate Beckinsale Captain Anderson - John Amos Saren - Hugo Weaving Joker - Seth Green Garrus - Sean Bean Heavily rumoured for "Star Wars Episode VII", before the coveted position went to JJ Abrams, Guillermo Del Toro would do well to create his own more mature intergalactic adventures within the the Mass Effect Universe. I really can't see a better choice for the mixture of genres this movie would need. The first quarter could be almost like a horror, with tension and suspense slowly building after Saren's treachery. Then Del Toro could go about introducing all the varied characters with an epic, action packed finale. Just think of the world Del Toro would create. It could elevate Mass Effect to new heights. Maybe he could even sort out thatending. Karl Urban would make an excellent Commander Shepard - he's got the looks, the acting skills and he's proven himself as quite the hero with last Summer's "Dredd". Kate Beckinsale would provide much more than a pretty face while Sean Bean would make an excellent Garrus (he could play Saren but I'm sick of Bean dying in every movie he's in). Seth Green would be simply reprising his role form the games and John Amos looks exactly like Captain Anderson. Hugo Weaving has perfected the "bad guy" role so could really make the part of Saren his own.
