Far Cry 3 borrowed a number of ideas from Ubisofts other flagship franchise, Assassins Creed, to great effect: disguises to blend in with the crowd, stalking prey and, most notably, the use of radio towers as viewpoints. Just like Assassins Creed, you have to climb dilapidated towers in order to gain mini-map access to sections of the game world. Plus, you get free weapons, too. Admittedly, this starts out pretty cool, asfrom a first person point of viewyou climb each level of the tower. Its neat visually but gets old after a while, and considering the fact that there are 18 towers in all, the activity becomes more of a chore than anything else. It also doesnt help that the towers become progressively more difficult, sometimes unfairly so.
