5. In-Depth Character Creation

There have always been iconic protagonists in gaming, but there's nothing quite like creating your own character. Playing as ‘V’, the recent gameplay footage released showed a range of customisation options, either to create your ideal RPG fantasy character or cyberpunk yourself to the max.

While deep customisation through sliders doesn’t appear to be present the way it is in Dragon Age: Inquisition or Monster Hunter World, the unique options more than make up for it.

There’s the usual gender, hair, clothing and tattoo choices, but from there you choose a backstory and control a wide skill tree, moving beyond cosmetic personalisation and into choices that will affect the story. Dialogue options will also be included, but will actually vary from character to character depending on the backstory each player chooses.

Likewise, seeing as the game is literally called Cyberpunk, it’s hardly surprising that augmentations play a massive role in customisation as well.

This all points to CD Projekt Red hoping players will build a hugely personal connection to their character.
