5 Video Games The Media Always Get Wrong (And 5 That Could Change Their Minds)
1. Grand Theft Auto IV
The Grand Theft Auto series has been under scrutiny since its humble beginnings. More than ten years later, the series is still the prominent feature of every discussion about violent video games. I picked GTA IV in particular because this game was so highly publicized, so highly inappropriate, so highly rated, and ultimately because its the first game I ever bought for the very first console I ever owned (and Im pretty sure Im not the only one who bought a new console just for this game). It is one of the most popular series of all time by one of the most popular developers and everyone just had to have it. While every news outlet out there had to let parents know just what they were buying their kids, did they actually know what game they were reporting on? Nope. In this interview with Glen Beck and Jack Thompson, the duo let parents out there know just what sickness is programmed into that sixty-dollar disc you just bought for your children. Clearly they didnt bother enough to actually play the game to relay accurate information as he goes on to state what you can do with a chainsaw in GTA IV. Now unless I missed out on one awesome cheat code there is no chainsaw in GTA IV.
