5 Ways Naughty Dog Can Avoid Killing Uncharted
5. Bring Back Jak And Daxter/Focus On A New IP
Understandably, Sony and Naughty Dog don't want Uncharted to disappear off into the sunset, due to it being an intellectual property which attracts a hefty sum of cash.
Yet, with the celebrations at E3 2016 over the return of Crash Bandicoot, the allure of nostalgia is evident. Therefore, a long requested for new Jak and Daxter would evoke a similar roar of approval.
Although Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer said that they had given up its exploration into another Jak and Daxter game a long time ago, with the success of the recently rebooted Ratchet & Clank, Naughty Dog and Sony would undoubtedly heavily profit from another adventure with Jak and his ottsel best friend.
Still, with how far Naughty Dog have evolved, a return to the more family oriented days would be a waste of their talents. Hence, the development of a new IP would be better.
Naughty Dog is a household name within the gaming community, something The Last of Us proved it with its 1.3 million launch day sales in 2013.
With Naughty Dog's reputation having continually grown, the release of a new franchise would indefinitely bring in an ocean of money. Furthermore, with how The Last of Us unexpectedly surpassed Uncharted, maybe its developers could shock the world with a new IP again.
Regardless of the decision, there IS a way for Uncharted to fade away without making Sony's pockets any lighter.
