6. The Gameplay Of New Pokemon Snap Holds Up In 2021

Over 25 years Pokémon's main games have held up through time despite turn-based gameplay being much less common than it was in the 90's. However, many questioned if the simplistic idea of Pokémon Snap would still be enough for fans in 2021. Thankfully in an era when taking pictures of everything is commonplace the concept still works. New Pokémon Snap is still as addictive as it was in 1999.

The controls are simple to get to grips with even for new players and there isn't really a lot that can go wrong unless you get too trigger happy and run out of pictures! While you remain in your cart on a set track the mechanics have been made easier for players to capture the best shots. It is genuinely satisfying to take pictures of your favourite Pokémon in a series of different settings.

The game is unlikely to entice non-series fans, but if you have got back into the Pokémon series or are still remain a long-time fan you will not be disappointed. As a huge nostalgia trip, it works as a one-off but I wouldn't be sure we will see any further Snap games for a while, many in another 20 years!
