In conjunction with the superb art style is a musical score from 65daysofstatic and Paul Weir that only enhances the game's already palpable atmosphere.

There's little quite like landing on a gorgeous new planet as the procedurally-generated score eases you in, fleeting between epic bombast and a more soothing synth-based tone as you explore.

It's the perfect sound for the game, really, and is without question one of the most universally-praised aspects of the game, with good reason mind. If you thought the sounds of No Man's Sky might end up feeling repetitive in the long run, after extensive play-testing it still astounds and relaxes in equal measure.
