5. The Character Roster Is Extremely Diverse
One of the main gripes in 2013’s Gods Among Us was that so many characters of DC lore were left out.
Obviously, the popular ones were there; such as the DC
trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. But there were many that were
absent from the company's rich gallery of heroes and villains. Many people kept asking why characters
such as Ares and Scorpion were included at the expense of others, for example.
Injustice 2 has brought many of these characters into the forefront and placed them in the spotlight. It’s exciting to be able to fight with the likes of Scarecrow, Captain Cold, Swamp Thing and Atrocitus, to name a few. The best part is, they included two of the most badass villains the DC Universe has to offer: Brainiac and Darkseid.
There are many more women this time around too, with newcomers like Supergirl, Cheetah, Black Canary and Poison Ivy becoming potential favorites in the years to come. The addition of these female characters is exciting, since there’s now a better balance between the genders that was lacking in the first game.
