6. R8 Revolver - Counter Strike: Global Offensive

All was good and well in the world of Counter-Strike: GO (or as well as things can go when you're fighting for your life at every given turn), but then in 2015 something disastrous happened. A little hand cannon by the name of the R8 Revolver dropped on the scene, and in short, order proceeded to execute pretty much every other weapon's effectiveness by being both a gun with the stopping power of a freight train, but also the accuracy of a sniper rifle.

Overnight the game was turned on its head as everyone flocked to use this globally offensive weapon, if for no other reason than the level the playing field a little bit and that, as you might expect doth not a good experience make. In response the devs didn't just nerf the gun, THEY COMPLETELY REMOVED IT FROM THE GAME until such a time that it was able to be re-introduced and play nice with the other kids.

Nowadays the weapon isn't much of a standout, but when you consider its lineage, that's most definitely a good thing.
