8 Gameplay Sections That Nearly Killed Amazing Video Games
8. Chronicles Of The Sword - Soulcalibur III
So this might get a little bit of hate seeing as the third installment in the highly successful and jiggle-tastic Soulcalibur fighting series (technically it's the fourth game but SORRY NO ONE GIVES A s**t ABOUT YOU SOUL EDGE) is pretty well respected amongst the fanbase but I'm just going to say it.
Chronicles of The Sword mode is absolute !*$%.
Sometimes.
And you know what? It's the "sometimes" that really infuriates me because this mode was a welcome diversion from the main fighting-centric formula, employing light RPG elements allowing you to level up your character, gain new equipment and pick your own path through maps in order to reach harder and harder challenges. However while this all sounds great on paper, in practice things can be ruined almost before they start by the uber-aggressive AI that will always, without any provocation, Zerg Rush you to oblivion.
If you're a dab hand at the game you'll be able to see off the first few waves and build a bit of breathing space, but to newcomers hoping for an easy entry into this new gameplay style this was a slap in the face and a sword in the gut all at once.
So to summarise, this Chronicles Of The Sword is a mode that is only as fun as you are good at this game.
