8 Obvious Flaws In Recent Video Games Everyone Ignores
8. The Original's Best Moments Were Cut - Resident Evil 4 (Remake)
After the success of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes, the fourth installment was guaranteed a do-over. Since Resident Evil 4 is considered the zenith of the zombie-blasting, boulder-punching saga, it seemed impossible for Capcom to recapture that magic.
But not only was this reboot a triumph, it surpassed its predecessor in a number of ways, by fine-tuning the combat, balancing the difficulty, and making Ashley more bearable. (She's still annoying, but it's not so bad now.)
Like the previous two remakes, certain elements from the original were removed, including the castle walkway fight, the village lift, and the spiked ceiling room. Though purists might find these alterations annoying, the remake functions perfectly without them.
However, 2023's RE4 also cut some of the best moments, including the lava room and the truck chase. Although the laser hallway is in the DLC, it no longer features in the main campaign. Even though U3 was among the most elaborate and scariest bosses, he's nowhere to be seen in the latest version. (At least the developers kept the merchant and the mine cart level, or there would've been hell to pay.)
As incredible as Resident Evil 4 Remake turned out, it's a shame players can't re-experience some of the most iconic moments. Come on, who didn't want to relive the moment Leon is chased by a statute of Salazar?
