8 Pokémon That Are Way Bigger Than You Think
8. Bulbasaur
In no way is Bulbasaur a towering beast like some of the Pokémon on this list, and compared to the rest of your Pokédex, the No. 1 entry is relatively small, which is to be expected from any starter. Yet when compared to its fellow starter Pokémon, it is surprisingly big.
When shown together with Squirtle and Charmander, the height of the Kanto starters is never depicted quite right, with Bulbasaur usually being underestimated. Squirtle and Charmander generally appear to be on a par with each other, while Bulbasaur is shown as being the shortest of them. Yet, the Grass type is actually the tallest of the three.
Listed at 2'4", Bulbasaur stands four inches taller than Charmander, and eight inches taller than Squirtle, despite being the only quadruped among them. In fact, Kanto's Grass starter is taller than almost every other starter throughout all seven generations, shorter only than its fellow Grass type Chikorita.
It is not just first stage starters that Bulbasaur stands above, with Froakie's second form Frogadier also falling short of the top of its bulb.
