Should these consoles really become incredibly small and totally wireless, then being able to be operated from an internal battery will become a necessity. Batteries are constantly getting smaller, more powerful and lasting longer. In several years they may of reached a level where they can power a console for an extreme length of time - after a charge time of only minutes - all while being smaller than the batteries found in today's phones. A powermat could be one re-charging possibility, as could a USB-style connector. Perhaps USB-style charging ports will be available everywhere, turning us into a fully digitised society.
