8 TERRIBLE Secret Video Game Endings That Took Incredible Effort To Unlock

3. Zero Treasure. Zero Respect - Ducktales 2

The driving force behind the Ducktale games is pretty much Scrooge McDuck consolidating even more of the world's wealth for his personal and rather offensive collection. It's not exactly the greatest message to be helping the 1% get even richer, but you know what? When it comes to gameplay this series was pure 24 Karat Gold.

That is except for a ridiculously downbeat ending that the player could only unlock if they were absolutely terrible with money management.

Throughout the game, the player will pick up treasures of varying value which they can use at the Item Shop for healing and other ability upgrades, and in order to get the bad ending, you'd need to spend literally every penny you have and end the game with zero dollars to your name. This is actually much harder to do than you might think as you need to spend the exact amount in the store in order to hit absolute zero, and you'd have to be careful NOT to pick up any more treasure after this point.

Doing all of this careful coin-tossing rewards you with your arch enemy finding your treasure and being named as the best adventurer in the world. To be fair the game has a point, if you'd got on with finding the treasure and not being a terrible investor, maybe you too would have a little more to your name than nothing.
