8 Underrated Video Games With STUNNING Art Styles

3. Antichamber

One of the most ingeniously creative puzzle-platformers ever made, Antichamber makes the Portal series look like mere child's play in every way that matters.

And it's fitting that the game's esoteric, noodle-baking puzzle design is accompanied by a similarly abstract, tough-to-define art style.

Though players are largely bathed in monochrome while traversing the various puzzle rooms, splashes of entrancing colour create eye-popping contrast, while the overall aesthetic is very clearly inspired by the brain-breaking works of M.C. Escher.

The result is a game that's both an absolute trip to behold and also one of the most striking-looking entries into its entire genre.

The impenetrability of some of the puzzles has likely held Antichamber back from resonating with a wider, more mainstream audience, but if you've got the patience to stick with it, it's one of the most brilliantly bewildering video games of all time.
