9 Intense Video Game Secret Levels You Can't Handle

1. The Inverted Castle - Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night

The undisputed king of the secret level, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night's Inverted Castle is also a b*tch to get through.

Unlocked by obtaining the Silver and Gold Rings and then wearing them in the central clock room (because video games), main-man Alucard will end up in an asset-flipped version of the standard castle.

Here's where things get tricky though. Not only do you have to take your formerly-extensive knowledge of the existing castle and map it onto a horizontally AND vertically flipped version, but all-new tougher enemies await, alongside remixed weapon drops and slight tweaks to parts of certain rooms.

Surviving this thing nets you one of the three "real" endings, alongside the proper final fight against Dracula.
