A Pokémon like Wurmple was a pretty good idea. It evolves into one of two cocoon-like Pokémon based entirely on its personality value - a trait hidden to the player meaning what you get is essentially a surprise. Unfortunately, one of the Pokémon you may end up with is Beautifly. Perhaps if Game Freak had given us a butterfly that wasn't just a dual Bug/Flying type that could learn a few status and psychic attacks then we wouldn't have to complain that we were essentially just battling with a redesign of Butterfree. Don't get us wrong, Butterfree is a decent Pokémon and it gets major props for being badass in the anime but that doesn't mean you can alter its design a bit and get away with it. Many fans expressed their displeasure with Beautifly and it seems the creators took notice. The bug Pokémon of generation five took a turn for the better with awesome displays such as Volcarona and Scolipede. Here's hoping they keep up that trend in X and Y.
