According to the website The Verge, Microsoft is prepping a $99 Xbox 360 bundle that includes a 4GB Xbox 360, a Kinect and is also rumored to include a two yer subscription to Xbox Live Gold. The catch is Microsoft is taking a page out of cell phone companies billing system and people who sign up and buy this bundle will be charged a $15 monthly fee. There will even be a termination fee for leaving the contact before the two year duration is up. The price model comparatively looks like this: Paying for everything up front: $299 (Xbox 360 4GB) + $120 (2 year subscription to Xbox Live)= $420 Bundle: $99 (Xbox 360 Bundle with Kinect) + $0 (Xbox Live upfront cost) +$15 (monthly fee for 2 years) = $459 In other words, the bundle like most phone plans will save you money upfront but cost you more in the long haul. For right now the rumors are that this bundle may role out as early as next week. According to the source of the rumor the bundle will only be available in North America in Microsoft retail outlets. So there are no plans for the bundle to be available outside Microsoft stores at this point; however I would venture to say that this is a trial program and if it is popular you will see Microsoft expand the program everywhere. In addition, there is no way I would recommend anyone buying a 4GB Xbox 360 as it is just a waste of money because you will need to buy a bigger hard drive in a matter of weeks depending on how much you play.
