Last night Amazon Studios and Bethesda Softworks announced they're collaborating on a Fallout TV Series, set to debut on Amazon Video. Dropping a short confirmation teaser on both of the company's Twitter accounts, the reveal featured the iconic "Please Stand By" logo which usually precedes new game announcements.

The project is still early on in pre-production and most likely won't be hitting screens for a few years yet, but it has been revealed that the show is being crafted by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Under their Kilter Films banner, the two will oversee the project at least in its early stages, though it's unclear how hands-on they will be should a full series be ordered, due to the duo continuing to act as showrunners on Westworld and devising other concepts for Amazon.

Either way, the two released a joint statement (via The Hollywood Reporter) about the series, saying:

"Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time... each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we're incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios."

As the statement suggests, Fallout's game director, Todd Howard, is also on board to executive produce the series.
