In a strange twist Sega has delayed Anarchy Reigns until 2013 for western audiences. Sega posted a couple of twitter responses to fans stating that the game had been moved back to 2013: the release of Anarchy Reigns has been re-evaluated. We now expect to launch in Europe and America in Q1 of 2013. Anarchy Reigns has already been delayed multiple times, this most recent delay didn't even give a release date when it was delayed, Sega just gave the obligatory date of TBD. The reason why this is so strange is, the game is basically done. Platinum Games the developer of the game actually stated they were finished with the game before the last delay. Today when it was announced Anarchy Reigns will be delayed until 2013, it was the first time Platinum Games had heard about the newest delay. Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba made this statement:
"First of all, we are done with all international versions of Anarchy Reigns. The delay is not due to further development of the game." "Today's Q1 2013 release news was the first we'd heard of it."
The Japanese version of the game is still scheduled to be released on July 5. The constant delays of Anarchy Reigns are probably a sign of either the financial trouble Sega has been dealing with or part of the restructuring plan that is going on with the company to fix the financial issues. For those who don't know Anarchy Reigns is a online fighting game that takes place in a post apocalyptic world. Here is a trailer: http://youtu.be/OpoBU_MbX5c
